Saltwater Colon Cleanse

30 November 2008 No Comment

Also known as a “salt water flush,” one of the simplest home remedies for colon cleansing is the Saltwater colon cleanse.

It’s easy, it’s inexpensive, and almost anyone can try it.

How to do it:

1) Skip a meal. You probably want to do this either by going to bed hungry on a Friday night, or maybe just skip breakfast on Saturday morning. Whatever you do, don’t plan on doing it on a work day or when you have social plans. This is a full time effort and you’re going to spend some time in the bathroom.

2) Make your home remedy Saltwater colon cleanse mixture.

You’ll need:

a) a quart of water

b) two or more tablespoons of UN-iodized salt or sea salt. Mix it thoroughly. Do NOT use regular table salt. It is not the same stuff.

3) Drink the entire quart as quickly as possible. This isn’t necessarily the most tasty beverage in the world and even though it’s cheap, that’s one reason why it’s not for everyone.

4) After a few minutes, start rubbing your stomach to promote movement.

It’s almost like an enema, except from the other end.

In a while or a couple of hours, you are going to feel pressure in your colon and you may have a few bowel movements.

If you don’t have a bowel movement, you probably didn’t use enough salt and you’ll have to try again some other day. Ask your physician.

This age-old home colon cleanse remedy flushes the entire system, but bear in mind that it also removes GOOD bacteria needed by your body as well as the bad stuff, so be sure to take a probiotic supplement to help replace and build back up the good bacteria in your system.

It’s simple, it’s inexpensive and it’s time-honored, and the Saltwater colon cleanse may just be right for you. It might not be the most pleasant way, but it is natural and does promote overall good colon health.

Don’t just try it though without consulting with your physician. Ask on your next visit.
